Digital media (your own websites, Facebook, Twitter, email, or other digital marketing tools) is a vital way to find new customers or keep in touch with existing customers.
The marketing landscape has changed dramatically over the last five years; and so have purchasing habits. Consumers know want to be educated first about your product or service before they buy. One research study I read said that 88 percent of all offline purchases are first searched on the internet. That tells me that the consumer wants to be sure (and reassured) that your product will work for them BEFORE they buy. It used to be that you would buy a product and then learn about it. No more. The consumer needs to know in advance.
Digital media gives you the opportunity to educate the marketplace about you, your company and your product in a way that traditional marketing avenues do not.
Why spend thousands on a 30 second advertisement when you blog, post and publish (for free) educational and marketing materials that builds relationships with your customers; and makes you an expert in your field at the same time?
There will always be a place for traditional media, but its role is changing…
